Father’s Day?

by

I am sure that most of you haven’t carved into your brain that for Mother’s Day my husband’s birthday, combined with Father’s Day and our anniversary which was last weekend, Wayne and I went to Orlando alone.  I was working a conference and he ended up helping too.  He is a trooper about things like that.

So, we may go out to eat tomorrow and then again, we may not.  My foot is still in this darn cast and it is hard to get moving.  up and down the steps, in the restaurant, you get the picture I am sure.

So, with that, do you know where Father’s Day Celebrations originated from?  Believe it or not, it was a woman who started Father’s Day and the story dates back to….yea, 1910 or some silly 100 years ago practically.

I usually tried to get my own father a card and I usually remembered it and there were times when I got him a gift, but normally just cards.  Well, my husband and I aren’t card people.  You know, so much easier and cheaper to send him a an ecard than to go to all that trouble…and just think… I haven’t been able to go anywhere for 5 months, come on, cut a girl some slack here, would you?

counting easter egg

And, so I will.  This picture was obviously made at Easter since they are counting eggs and carrying buckets but I couldn’t find the good one of the three of them that was made during baseball season.

Now, this next picture is not my father, or my husband or my kid but it is the most awesome father son photo ever so I am adding it in here for your viewing pleasure…geee I am so nice today…

I ran out of nice when I couldn’t find it…I’ll get it though, promise.
